What do you teach? 

Mathematics and MOD II
 

How long have you been teaching those subjects? 

I've been teaching mathematics for about 15 years and MOD II which is a class to prepare students for job placement twice since I've been with PVHS the last eight months.
 

Why did you choose this job/career? 

I've always enjoyed teaching since my student teaching experience the year I graduated from the University of Arizona.  I had been out of teaching for a couple of years when I heard about the opportunity at PVHS for students seeking a high school diploma, as well as making themselves job ready, I missed being involved with young adults, so I applied. 

What are your thoughts about Pima Vocational High School? 

Pima Vocational is a unique and creative program, allowing as much flexibility for the student as possible in obtaining a diploma. 

What are your thoughts about the students attending P.V.H.S.?   

The majority of the students attending here are motivated and focused. Many have families and jobs outside of school that they maintain outside of school.

How do you feel about the vocational training programs?  

It is a "Hands-On" program where students can learn on the job training with employers who are willing to work with them if they haven't had previous experience.

What do you encourage in the students? 

Mutual respect and taking responsibility for their own educations by being involved in a plan to work towards graduation.
 

What are your hopes for the school and students in the future? 

That PVHS will be able to provide a high quality of individual instruction for all students, regardless of where they may be starting in the classes offered here.
