What do you do at PVHS?

I am the Vocational Coordinator at the school. I work with the
students on their work placements.

How long have you been doing that?

I have been teaching in Tucson for more than 12 years and working as a counselor at PVHS for 1 ½ years.

Why did you choose this job/career?   

I have always enjoyed being around young people and working with them to help them "discover" their future career. 

What are your thoughts about Pima Vocational High School?

It is a wonderful environment that helps students complete their high school diploma.

What are your thoughts about the students attending P.V.H.S.?  

The students are great.  It is an inspiration to watch the students mature and conquer many obstacles.

How do you feel about the vocational training programs?  

The vocational program allows the students to learn about many aspects of the "world of work."  It helps them determine a future career.

What do you encourage in the students?  

I encourage them to be here, be on time, and be ready to work. I also encourage them to practice responsibility and stick-tu-i-tive-ness.
They CAN do whatever they set their minds to.

What are your hopes for the school and students in the future?

My hope is that we will open more sites so that we can assist more of the young people in Tucson reach their goals.  I would also hope that as the school continues to grow and expand, more businesses will hear about us and they will want to have our students as interns.
