What do you do here?

I coordinate the P.V.H.S. overall program.

How long have you been doing this?

I have been a program developer/manager for about 16 years. I have developed programs for youth, homeless families, and education.

Why did you choose this position?

I really like working with people who are interested in getting ahead and changing their lives.

What are your thoughts about Pima Vocational High School?

I am excited at the opportunity to work in an environment where students and staff can be happy to come to work each day, where we help each other to learn and become successful.

What are your thoughts about the students attending P.V.H.S.?

I'm so happy to have such a wide variety of students with different life experiences who want to reach certain goals for themselves. Most of the students are very creative and independent thinkers.

How do you feel about the vocational training programs? 

They give our students an opportunity to try jobs in different areas before they choose one to be their focus.

What do you encourage in the students?

I encourage students to look within themselves and see the many positive traits they have and then to have work to build up the weaker areas. I want them to feel they can get a new start and be successful people.

What are your hopes for the school and students in the future?

That we can grow to include more sites where students can have great teachers and exciting work experiences.

I’m grateful to our first fifty students for teaching us what we need to do to improve our school and to the many people from Pima County who have helped us to get started.
